Queens Award for Voluntary Service June 2022

On June 2nd 2022 the official birthday of Her Majesty the late Queen Elizabeth 11 in her Platinum Jubilee year it was announced in the London Gazette that the Friends of St Helens Cemetery had been awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Services , the highest award in UK for voluntary services and equivalent to an M.B.E.

On 14th November 2022 the Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, Mr Mark Blundell presented the volunteers with the QAVS crystal and the certificate of authenticity signed by Her Majesty the late Queen Elizabeth 11. What an occasion and what a great honour to receive this award.
